Urban Captures - Architectural and Interior Photographers in Miami
Architectural and interior design photography is a specialized field that plays a crucial role in documenting and promoting the built environment. It is instrumental in capturing the essence, functionality, and aesthetic qualities of architectural structures and interior spaces. We are passionate about this genre of photography because it goes beyond simple visual representation; it seeks to encapsulate the vision and creativity behind each design, highlighting the intricate interplay of form, space, light, and material.
The complexity of architectural photography lies in its demand for technical mastery and artistic insight. Photographers must skillfully balance natural and artificial lighting to reveal the subtleties of texture and detail while maintaining spatial integrity and depth. The challenge is to avoid distortions and accurately represent the scale and proportions of the structures. Interior design photography adds another layer of complexity, focusing on the ambiance and functionality of indoor spaces. It requires a keen understanding of colour harmony, texture interplay, and design elements to create images that resonate with the intended atmosphere and style of the space. When shooting interiors, we capture the essence of the interior layout, the careful selection of décor, and the overall spatial harmony, ensuring each image conveys a sense of place and purpose.
This genre is particularly fascinating to us because it allows us to apply not only our technical proficiency but also our ability to interpret and convey the designer’s vision, creating compelling visual narratives that engage and inspire.
Cultural Institution and Urban Space
GES-2, the historic power plant at the centre of Moscow, has been transformed by Renzo Piano and his team at the Renzo Piano Building Workshop for the V-A-C Foundation into a contemporary art centre. It was important for us to convey Renzo Piano's vision of this place in his words: “a snow-white factory, a greenhouse of art, a temple of light,” that is always open to all.
The New World Center in Miami Beach, home of the New World Symphony, designed by Frank Gehry, is not an easy building to photograph due to its surroundings, including tall buildings that obstruct light. We took on the challenge to capture how this complex building "lives" in the city during the day, revealing new appearances and creating different moods with the changing light.
